MARYLAND TRANSIT ADMINISTRATION COMMUNICATIONS GENERAL ENGINEERING CONSULTANT
• Communication Design/Specifications
• Complex Alignment Work Around
• RF/Wireless Design
• Electronic Security Design & Implementation
• Construction Management

ISR has been part of two General Engineering Consultant contracts providing communications, RF/Wireless and Security (CCTV, Access Control, and Intrusion Detection) to complement the prime consultant's team.

Light Rail ADA Public Address and OTN Network: Developed communication and infrastructural design for a new all-encompassing upgrade including generating specifications, contract drawings, bid forms and engineers estimate for all light rail stations. The system included installing new conduits, poles/foundations, LED signs and speakers at each station and a new network design upgrade using the OTN system. Extensive engineering and oversight were included for the complexity of the alignment running through downtown Baltimore and directly over a CSX tunnel. ISR also oversaw the implementation and construction.

Light Rail - Next Train Arrival System: Developed system design and functional requirements including installing microcontrollers, GPS antennas, and cellular modems on all 54 Light Rail Vehicles. The system also includes hosting a web server for smartphone and PC applications. Specific operational tools include displaying vehicle location in the yard and inside the maintenance building. Maintainers are able to view temperature sensors for wayside communication cabinets.

Wi-Fi Preliminary Engineering for MD MTA: In support of a private Wi-Fi system along the right-of-way for both the MTA’s light rail and metro systems, ISR RF engineers provided preliminary design (utilizing software simulation) for the locations of each mesh node along the entire 30 miles of the light rail system, plus the metro subway system. ISR is currently assisting in evaluating technology solutions including WiMAX, Private LTE, mesh and Pico-Cells.

Baltimore-Washington International Airport Rail Station Communications & Security Improvements: Managing the development of plans, specifications and estimates for the design of communications and security systems for the BWI Rail Station Interim Improvements. The design includes LAN communications, CCTV surveillance, an intrusion/access control system, as well as facility and underground conduit and cabling infrastructure.

Kirk Division Bus Facility:  For the Phase 1 effort, ISR is developing the contract documents including specifications, drawings, engineers estimate for the communications systems that includes integrating several systems into a single design.
